A green card is a document showing that someone who is not a citizen of the United States has permission to live and work in the United States, usually indefinitely. If you are a green card holder, you are automatically classified as a United States tax resident and must report all of your income, whether earned abroad or domestically, and are taxed the same as a U.S. citizen.
